According to estimates, this looks to be a winner. I'm thankful I didn't "buy back" my bet and that Saw III didn't have a "monster" opening as was so drilled into my thread. I wish midnight numbers foretold the weekend, but they don't, with a few exceptions (blockbuster movies). I don't mind constructive criticism, or anyone having a question with a pick and asking for more information, but what I do mind is someone coming into my thread telling me to change a bet based on some midnight numbers. That is ridiculous. I spend most of the week analyzing movies and I work at a theater as well so I have a lot of information at my disposal. I don't come into a thread and ask people to change a bet even though I may see it differently and I ask that everyone do the same with me. One more thing, the books are over estimating horror movies now and with three straight underperforming (Saw to a lesser degree), this is a trend that is likely to continue into next year. Keep this in mind.

If the estimates are spot-on, you won by a narrow 700k, laying -160 and you're mad at someone for providing you info suggesting that your position may be wrong?

Calm down buddy, he was trying to help. Very easy to come in after it looks like you're a winner and shoot somebody down.

Also, the Under 35 closed at +140 (-160 was the highest I ever saw it).

Domer - I don't mind someone coming in my thread and having a dissenting opinion. We wouldn't be gambling if everyone was on the same side. I just didn't appreciate the fact that he was basically saying my under was done after some midnight numbers. That's why he said "buy back your bet". Of course the midnight numbers were going to be stronger than the second one, they almost always are for sequels. I would have been concerned if they weren't, especially seeing it was a horror film and most horror buffs come out the first day/night to see it.

*Update - According to Sunday's numbers, Saw III made about 32.7 million over the weekend, which makes the under cash by more than 2 million. Sorry for anyone who had the over 33-34 million as the weekend estimate appeared to be way off.
